Giving hope back to our heroes

What if PTSD is more than a mental health disorder?

Help us launch a groundbreaking pilot study to evaluate a comprehensive new approach to PTSD care for veterans and first responders. We believe lasting recovery begins by addressing the physiological, neurological, and psychological effects of trauma together instead of only psychotherapy and pharmaceuticals.

Our Mission

Why a Pilot Study?

Trauma changes much more than our thoughts and emotions.
It can alter brain function, disrupt stress hormones, deplete essential nutrients, impair sleep, increase inflammation, and change the nervous system’s ability to regulate itself. Current evidence-based PTSD treatments can be life-changing for many people, but they do not work for everyone. Our pilot study will evaluate whether addressing physiological, neurological, and psychological factors together can produce meaningful improvements beyond what participants have experienced through traditional approaches alone. Before new models of care can become widely available, they must first demonstrate measurable outcomes. The goal is to generate evidence, train practitioners across the country, and leave not one human life behind to suffer alone.

The Integrative Strategy

The brain, body, and mind do not function in isolation. Each affects the others, which is why lasting healing requires addressing all three.

Restore the Body

Identify and correct biochemical imbalances based on individualized lab tests.

Optimize the Brain

NeurOptimal Neurofeedback supports the brain’s capacity for adaptation and self-regulation.

Heal the Mind

Evidence-based psychotherapy tailored to each individual’s specific trauma.

How You Can Help

Every day, veterans and first responders carry trauma that traditional treatment alone often can’t resolve.  Health For Our Heroes is raising $180,000 to fund an integrative therapy approach – pairing functional medicine, neurofeedback, psychotherapy, and nutrition – to give our heroes a real path to recovery.
Your support gets us there.  Thank you for supporting our heroes!
